Review: Murad Correcting Moisturizer

I know it's been awhile since I last posted, it's been crazy busy with the holidays going on. I am happy to finally have a day where I can just sit down, relax, and blog. I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays!

Christmas over here was very small and low key but it was still wonderful. My birthday is on Monday and I will finally be 21! Ah, I'm so excited but feel so old at the same time. I won't get to celebrate it though as I will be renewing my drivers license and going to work. Blah. Oh well, I will be celebrating very hard on New Years Eve! I can't believe it's going to be 2014, this year flew by so fast. So much has happened this past year both good and bad but it has all been a part of my growth as a person.

Anyways, enough blabbing. Today I will be reviewing the Murad Correcting Moisturizer. I am always looking for new skincare products that will make my skin look and feel amazing. My skin type is dry, my nose tends to get flaky and I have redness on my cheeks, chin, and my nose.

A couple months ago I was looking around at Sephora. I talked to one of the employees at Sephora about changing up my skincare routine so I can try to decrease the redness on my skin. The employee recommended the Murad Correcting Moisturizer and I am so glad she did because this has become my holy grail moisturizer.

The Murad Correcting Moisturizer comes in a 1.7 fl. oz. tube and has a green tint to it to help neutralize the redness. I use this moisturizer every morning. A little goes a long way with this product; I just use a small quarter sized amount and apply it all over my face and neck.

Some moisturizers leave my skin feeling a bit greasy but I haven't had that experience with this moisturizer at all. My skin feels very soft and hydrated, the flakiness on my nose is non-existent after I use this. This moisturizer also has SPF 15 so it is also a great sunscreen for the face. It has a very fresh, invigorating smell. It reduced the redness on my skin a bit. The difference isn't huge but I do notice that my cheeks and nose aren't as red as they were before. My skin isn't all that sensitive but I haven't noticed any breakouts or any reactions as a result of this product. The price of this product is $39.00, it's a bit pricy but I think it's worth it for what you're getting.

Overall I really love this moisturizer. It protects against the suns harsh rays, it's not greasy, it reduces redness, hydrates my skin, and makes my skin feel so soft. This moisturizer has become a staple in my morning skincare routine and I will definitely be re-purchasing it when I run out.

Have you tried this moisturizer, if so, what do you think of it? What's your favorite moisturizer?

I hope you liked this review and found it to be helpful. If I don't post again before the new year, I hope you all have a safe, wonderful New Years Eve!

Nail of the Day

Hey there!

It's been a very slow, uneventful day. I've been cooped up inside the house burying myself under blankets and drinking tea to keep warm. Since there wasn't much going on, I decided to paint my nails. I haven't painted my nails in months! With school and work, I just didn't have the time or the patience it takes to let my nails dry and not touch anything.

I dug through my little nail polish collection and decided to use 'Sole Mate' by Essie. It's a gorgeous deep, burgundy color, perfect for the winter! For a top coat I use the Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat. As you can see, I'm no nail artist but I think I did an okay job. I'm just glad they didn't get all smudged up. It's kinda odd but I feel good having nicely painted nails after months of not painting them. I'm going to make a habit of doing this more often.

What's your favorite nail polish for the winter?

Little Haul

I am happy to say that this is my first post on my blog, finally! It took some time to put it together and while I am not completely finished, I am satisfied with how it is looking so far. I didn't want to wait any longer, I've been itching to write on here.

It is very snowy and cold in Ohio right now. The tip of my nose and my hands feel frozen, even with all of my layers of clothing and blankets. I'm such a freeze baby. I do love winter though, I love all the seasons really. It looks beautiful outside with the snow covering everything like a giant blanket.

These past few weeks have been very busy with getting all of my finals out of the way, working, hanging out with friends, and shopping.

I have been trying to get a few more articles of clothing for the cold weather, mainly a new jacket. The one I currently have is fine for the most part, I can make due with it but if I can get my hands on something a little warmer that would be great. I know I should have probably taken care of this before it started getting cold but life sort of got in the way.

Recently I have been bumming around the mall and other stores with my best friends. It has been awhile since I bought anything for myself, so I purchased a few items from Wet Seal and Kohl's.

I spotted this cute white high-low top with Aztec print when I was searching through the clearance racks at Wet Seal. I know, it's not very practical for the cold weather but it was on sale for $4 or $5 so I thought, why not? I love high low pieces, they are so much fun to wear. The shirt is very soft and thin so while it is not perfect for the weather right now it will be very nice to wear when spring and summer comes.

While I was at Wet Seal I looked at the accessories to see if anything caught my eye and sure enough I found something. I saw the double ring a couple weeks ago when I was at Wet Seal and I really wanted to get it but I decided not to. It was a good idea I waited because I found it on sale at a significantly lower price than it was originally marked. I love double rings and thought this one would be adorable to add to my small collection. I also purchased these pair of gold earrings. They are so fun, edgy, and glamorous looking. I think they would look great with the high low top I just bought, a pair of skinny jeans, a big bangle or two, a loose necklace, and some heels.

I have been wanting a pair of Oxfords for awhile now. They are so nice and versatile, you can create endless looks with them. I bought this pair of black Oxfords at Wet Seal and I couldn't be happier. They have a suede like material and are so comfortable to wear. I can't wait to stomp all over campus in these when I go back to college in the spring.

Going to Kohl's was a little disheartening at first because I couldn't really find any winter coats or anything that really popped out at me. When I traveled to the shoe section these combat boots captured my heart. The boots are from the Candies collection at Kohl's. They are a gorgeous brown and go up to my mid-calf. These boots are one of the only things I bought that really work for the cold weather. They were on sale for $44, their original price was $79, what a steal!

So my mission to get articles of clothing for the cold weather didn't go as planned but I am extremely happy with what I bought. I hope you all enjoyed this haul and have a wonderful day! :)
