May Favorites!

Hello!

Wow, I can't believe May is already over! This month went by pretty fast. Some great things happened in May; I finished my spring semester of college, I got to hang out with my friends more, and I nabbed an internship for the summer! I'm very pleased with how this month ended and I look forward to what June will bring.

The end of the month means it's time to go over my favorite or most used products in May. This is actually my first monthly favorites post on this blog! There were quite a few products that I used a lot this month so my first favorites post will be a bit lengthy. :)

The first product on my favorites list for the Month of may are the Equate Night-Time Makeup Remover Towelettes. Prior to these, I was using the Neutrogena Night Calming Cleansing Towelettes. After I used those up I wanted to look for a cheaper alternative and I found these Equate towelettes which were significantly cheaper at my Walmart. I love these! It takes me no effort at all to remove my makeup with these towelettes. No tugging, no irritation, and they're cheap! I'm going to be buying these from now on.

The next product on my favorites list is the Aqua Marina face and body cleanser from Lush. I absolutely adore this product! I plan to post a full review on this product later on, so I won't ramble on too much about it. I was previously using the First Aid Beauty face cleanser and it worked pretty well. I actually love that cleanser as well. However, I wanted to branch out and finally buy something from Lush! The employees at Lush recommended the Aqua Marina face and body cleanser for my dry skin. I like to use this when I'm in the shower. I love how soft and fresh my skin feels after I rinse it off. I'm extremely happy with this product.

The Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel is my holy grail of exfoliators. I was given a sample of this product awhile ago at Sephora when I was looking around for a new exfoliator and I fell in love with this product immediately! I went back to Sephora and bought this product as soon as I could. Since I have rough skin I don't like gritty scrubs because I find that they make my skin even drier and flakier. Basically, you apply the gel onto dry skin and gently massage the gel in a circular motion to get rid of the dead skin cells and then rinse it off. I use this product about two times a week. The peeling gel isn't gritty at all, it's very smooth and gentle on my skin. This has done wonders for my skin! It does a great job of getting rid of any dry flaky patches near my nose. My skin feels so soft. I am definitely purchasing this product again when this is all used up.

When I was at Lush I also made a last minute decision of purchasing this Bubblegum lip scrub. I adore this product! I use this on my lips daily to get rid of the dead skin cells on my lips and it makes my lips so soft. Since I've started using this lip scrub I've noticed that I really haven't had any issues with my lips getting chapped. Another thing I like about this lip scrub is that since it is made with natural ingredients I can just lick the scrub right off after I'm done. It smells and tastes just like bubblegum!

I've been using this Laura Mercier Moisture Supreme foundation a lot lately. To be honest, I still don't know if this is my favorite foundation. I'm still on the hunt for my holy grail foundation but in the meantime I'm working with the products I currently have. This foundation provides medium-full coverage so I love that it covers up any flaws and redness on my skin. It matches my pale skin perfectly. I have very fair cool toned skin and the color porcelain ivory is a perfect match. I also love that it makes my skin look very smooth and flawless for the most part. What I don't like about this foundation is that it doesn't seem to stay put. Even with primer I find that it tends to get blotchy throughout the day. I don't use setting powder because I have dry skin so it just makes my makeup look so cakey. So while I do use this product a lot and there are things I like about this product, I don't think I will be repurchasing it again. If you have dry skin like me and have any recommendations for foundation let me know in the comments below! I'd really appreciate the suggestions.

I've been using this blush so much since spring started! This is The Balm in Hot Mama. Can I say how much I adore The Balm's packaging? It's so cute and fun! This blush is a pinky-peach color that has a subtle shimmer to it. I love sweeping this blush on my cheeks; it gives them such a nice warm glow. It's perfect for the warmer months.

I think the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer might be one of my top favorites. I'm constantly using this before I apply my eye makeup. It really does a good job at making my eye makeup pop and preventing it from creasing.

I've been loving this Maybelline Line Stilleto so much! I've been using this everyday to line my eyes. I love that it's flexible enough to give me the control I need to make wing my eyeliner.

My Naked Palette has been one of my most used palettes in May. I adore my other palettes but this is my go-to palette when I'm in a rush or want something rather simple. This palette has all the colors I need to create a dramatic or simple look. I've been more drawn to simple, neutral eye looks this month.  I love all the colors in this palette but I've been using the colors Sin, Toasted, Creep, Buck, and Naked the most lately.

I have a little collection of lip balms that I like to use but during May I stuck to good old Chapstick. Since I've stuck to rather simple looks this month, this is often the only thing I'd really use on my lips this month if I didn't put on any lipstick. This Chapstick keeps my lips very hydrated and it doesn't have that annoying stickiness at all.

Whew, we're finally at the end of this long list! May has been a pretty good month to me and I can't wait to see what happens in June. What has been your favorite products for the month of May? Anything that you're dying to try? Let me know in the comments below.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for reading! :)
