Old Navy Haul

Hello!

I completed yet another semester of college, finally! This semester was weird; at times I felt like it was flying by yet at others time I thought I would never reach the end. These past couple months were stressful and challenging but I also had fun and learned a lot about myself. I'm so glad that I get a break from school and I'm ready to enjoy this summer. I get to work on my creative projects, hang with my besties, go on a road trip to Chicago with one of my besties, and work more.

I recently went on a little shopping trip to Old Navy to update my wardrobe for the summer as well as have a couple new things to wear on my trip to Chicago.

One of the things I purchased from Old Navy was this short sleeved black and white shirt. It's nothing fancy but I think you can never have enough basic pieces in your wardrobe. There are endless possibilities with this shirt! It can be dressed up or dressed down and can transition nicely through each season.

The second item I purchased from Old Navy was this sleeveless soft pink floral blouse. I was very lucky to find this cute top on clearance, it was a steal! This blouse is too cute, it has a soft, feminine feel to it. The fabric of this blouse is thin and lightweight so it's perfect for the warmer months.

Of course I couldn't walk out of the store without buying a skirt or dress. There weren't many of them that caught my eye except for this black and white patterned maxi skirt. One of the issues I sometimes have with maxi skirts and dresses is that they can be just a bit too long but the length of this is perfect! I adore maxi skirts and dresses, they're so much fun to wear. I'm definitely thinking about wearing this when I'm in Chicago.

One of the main reasons I actually went to Old Navy was because I needed some more pants. I have lots of tops but it always seems like I don't have enough bottoms. I love these orange-red cuffed ankle pants. The fun color screams summer to me and I'm so excited to wear them.

Jogger pants were a trend that really had to grow on me. Slowly I came to adore them but was hesitant to buy myself a pair because I thought they would look ridiculous on me. There was a ton of cute jogger pants at Old Navy in varying colors and prints. I decided to stick with a pair of black joggers. I haven't gotten a chance to wear them out yet but I have tried them on and I actually really like them! They're so soft and comfy to wear, it almost feels like you're not wearing pants. I have a ton of ideas on how to style them and I already want to get another pair soon.

The last two things I purchased from Old Navy were flip-flops. I bought a pair of hot pink flip-flops and ta pair of tan flip-flops with white straps. Flip-flops are a must for me in the summertime! It's so easy to just slip them on and go plus I think they're super comfy.

This concludes this little haul. I'm so excited to see what this summer holds and am determined to cross a little goals off of my checklist this summer. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post and I hope you all have a wonderful day. :)

Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette Review

Hello!

I hope everyone is enjoying March so far. It's finally warmed up a little bit in Cleveland! I've been trying to keep afloat in what appears to be a sea of projects, exams, and homework. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed but I'm trying to keep a positive attitude and keep trudging along.

For the longest time I've been wanting to build up my collection of neutral matte eyeshadows. I sifted through my drawer and it was filled with fun, bright colored eyeshadows but not very many neutral shades! My collection got just a little bigger last month when I decided to buy the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette.

This is one of my first products that I purchased from Tarte and I honestly don't know why I waited so long to try out the brand. I've heard many good things about the brand and I was impressed when I swatched their sample products in Sephora or Ulta but I just never got around to purchasing a product from them until now. I'm very impressed with this palette!

First off, I'm in love with the packaging. The front of the palette has this purple gradient going on with the brand name in pretty gold script while the back is gold. The back of the palette tracks fingerprints like crazy so I'm glad that Tarte didn't make the whole palette gold. I also like how compact the palette is, it makes it really easy to travel with.

The palette features 12 beautiful shades.

Free Spirit, is a slightly yellow cream shade
Caregiver, a very pale pink shade
Super Mom, a soft ivory shade
Force of Nature, a light pinky nude shade
Natural Beauty, a light mauve shade
Wanderer, a light brown shade
Dreamer, a deep warm brown shade
Best Friends, a muted medium plum shade
Power Player, a light taupe shade with gray
Multi-Tasker, a warm chocolate brown shade
Bombshell, a deep plum shade
Fashionista, a rich black shade

The pictures below feature swatches from the palette. I showed how the shades looked with and without the flash. The first six shades on my hand starting with the upper left side are Free Spirit, Caregiver, Super Mom, Force of Nature, Natural Beauty, and Wanderer. The next six shades on my hand starting from the upper left are Dreamer, Best Friends, Power Player, Multi-Tasker, Bombshell, and Fashionista.

There are so many different looks you could create with this palette; a smokey eye for a night out or you can just swipe a shade on the lid for a pop of color. The shadows in this palette are so buttery and smooth! All of the colors are very pigmented and rich for the most part. Some of the shadows in this palette such as Super Mom were a bit powdery but most of them applied nicely and were very blendable. I used this palette for a friends wedding last month and I was very happy that they lasted all day, I didn't notice them fading or anything.

This limited edition palette costs $44 and I think the price is pretty fair considering the quality of this palette.

This has become my go-to palette when I want to create a look. Overall I'm extremely happy with my first purchase from Tarte and I definitely plan to purchase more products from them in the future.

For those of you who have the palette what do you think about it? Are there any other palettes you are dying to get your hands on let me know!

I hope everyone has a nice day!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks Review

Hello!

I would like to start this blog post by wishing you all a Happy New Year, I hope 2015 is off to a great start for everybody! So far I have no complaints except that it's freezing right now. I'm all bundled up and blasting my space heater in hopes that my room will warm up soon.

Anyways, today I am going to be reviewing Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks. I have been a fan of Jeffree Star for a couple of years now. He seems like such a fun person, his music is catchy, and his makeup is flawless. When I first heard that Jeffree Star was going to be coming out with his own cosmetics line I was so excited to see what products he would come out with.

On Thanksgiving I was running around like a mad woman when I got the notification that I could finally preorder the lipsticks. I squealed when my package finally came the day before Christmas! I wanted to try out all three of these lipsticks a bit before posting my opinion. I can tell you that I instantly fell in love with these lipsticks.

First off I adore the packaging of the lipsticks; it's so bright, edgy, and fun. I really want to get something to put my lip products on display such as these rather than stash them away in my makeup drawer. The applicator for this product is wonderful, it's very flexible and makes it easy to apply these fun lipsticks.

So far the lipsticks come in three beautiful colors.

Redrum,
a beautiful cool toned red lipstick.
Prom Night, a fun bright pink lipstick.
I'm Royalty, a unique royal purple lipstick.

The lipsticks are very glossy when you first apply them but after a few seconds they turn into a very nice matte formula.

All three of the lipsticks are incredibly pigmented. One of the issues with matte lipsticks is that they can make your lips feels very dry but my lips didn't feel dry at all when I wore these lipsticks!

The lipsticks are long lasting. I wore these lipsticks multiple times for long hours and I had no issues with the lipsticks feathering or looking cruddy. I was very happy and surprised to see that the product stay put on my lips when I was drinking and eating. That almost never happens! I usually have to retouch my lips at least once during the day but I didn't have to do that at all when I wore these lipsticks.

The Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks are $18.00 each and the bundle for all three colors is $48.00 but last time I checked the bundle was sold out. I think the price of the lipsticks is worth it for the quality you're getting.

I could not be happier with these lipsticks and I'm looking forward to more colors in the future. Jeffree Star has outdone himself and I can't wait for him to release more products, I think he's definitely going to change the cosmetic industry.

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this review and have a marvelous day! :)
